color challenge {tuesday?} #23

There’s so much going on with A Muse|Studio this week, I’ve moved the CCW post to Tuesday to make sure we fit it in!

The color challenge this week encourages you to try combining beautiful turquoise and a couple of yellows (A|S colors: bermuda, lemon whip and bellini) in a card design…

In this example I was trying to create a card using turquoise, yellow and orange, however the bellini ink came out as more of a dark yellow than an orange so we’re just going to stick with the two colors this week and keep things really simple. I think if I re-ink the bellini pad the true ink color will come back to me.

I did some random stamping using the Marvelous Marigolds stamp set on a round panel cut with my Spellbinders Nestabilities large circle set + the large scallop circle set. The sentiment is from Essential Sentiments. I embellished the design by using some medium pearl stickers in the center of each flower and then tied a bit of sugar polka dot organdy to a little paper clip and clipped it to the polka dot strip of bermuda card stock. The finishing touch was a spritz of Stardust Finishing Spray on the random stamped circle piece. You can’t see it in the photo, but this spray gives the panel a subtle, sparkle…a very nice touch!

color challenge wednesday #22

For this week’s color challenge I chose the color combination of  dark blue, light blue and red (A|S colors:  navy, sky & cherry) and used the A|S Marvelous Marigolds stamp set…

I used a little pearl sticker embellishment for the center of the marigold and some foam squares to pop up the center panel. The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments stamp set.  I hope you enjoy this color combination and can find time to try it out in your own stamping project this week!
